This is one you need to listen to all the way through to really appreciate the range and style. From Big Band to Gospel to a kind of dreamy old time crooner. Rhetta has a flare all her own, like Ella Fitzgerald or Betty Carter Rhetta is now making her place with these faithful songs. With some classic church organ, smooth piano, drums, and bass this is a jazzy collection of faithful uncluttered lyrics. There's a southern church somewhere looking for Rhetta to sing her heart felt words of faith in. Like Broadway show tunes, she has a flare for the big production number. We're not really sure if this is Gospel... maybe more like an Ella Fitzgerald on stage belting out the big number. It's fun, toe tapping, happy it's all gonna be alright music. ‘I'm gonna tell my God on you' is one cool song, with the repeating lyric "I'm gonna tell my God on you.... naaa naa na naa naa" your heart will be laughing and thanking your purse/wallet for the purchase. Then ‘He took the Pain away' is a crooners heart felt dream, serious just enough to make us thing and remember. Wow, Ms. Green we really loved your Cd. Each song is a surprise you can't wait to open. Get this one then look for the new one coming out soon. (She's in the studio now)
