No matter who we ask, no matter what religion we consult, Rabbi, Priest, Iman, Nuns, Monks, Theologians everyone agrees: So all music from every faith can be found here. Isn't it about time we had a store for all of us to shop in. Not just the corner section, or a single rack in a 'Sam Goody' or 'Borders' book store. Sing4life.com - This is that store with just that section. But it also includes all the different styles of music in that section and all with one common theme holding them all together. "Goodness", whether sung about using the name of God or any of His prophets, disciples, saints or sinners. Or lyrics that paint the pictures of everyday people getting through their lives, giving answers to the questions of life and living. Being enriched through song can be by accident or Providence. Many Artist will add a single song about this type of Goodness to an album filled with the standard fare. But we are looking for artist who's whole album is this type of music. So, now we build the store. The heading is Sing4Life and it's also the theme. The cool part is we're discovering every style of music has artist singing about this kind of thing. God, Goodness, Life, the lessons of life, the answers to our normal everyday questions. Listening is no longer passive, now it's interactive and productive. It can become an 'event' in your life to listen to these songs, or just relaxing and reassuring. The second reason was to create a venue for new artist. The music industry seems to be a 'click club', how does a new artist filled with inspirations and a CD in hand get started. It could normally take years and years. Now if you have a few bucks and can get your CD made, we will help you sell it with no up front fees. All one needs to do is send us their CD, we put it up, and you have a web site to call your own to sell your music. Easy! For me this is doing duty to God, a virtually free service that is helping spread the ‘Good word'. So tell everyone you know, lets grow this store showing the world ‘it aint all about power and money'. When I found out up to 60 or even 70 percent of the profit from the sale of a CD goes to the store (the distributer) that sold the CD, I was really dismayed at this crazy system. A system that rewards the store more than the artist. We believe the artist deserves to receive the lions share of the reward for their hard work. Sing4life.com does that for them. "We believe success is measured by how much is in your heart, not how much is in your pocket." This is a quote from Darrell B. Gilbert, the proprietor of this store. With a mother and father who spent a good part of their respective lives in theater(off Broadway, NY,NY)singing, dancing and acting, it's not unexpected their son would be a performer too. Being in 'little theater' for the first 14 years of my life sourrounded by theater people it is surly in my DNA. I began to bang on the paino at three or four, by fourteen I was in a band writing the music, playing the bass guitar, and lead singing at many events and parties. College ensued with an Associates degree in Music. Voice and composition were the majors. This is when the transition from piano to acoustic Guitar took place. In forty two years the careers have been filled with many experiences - Managing hotels, Sales trainer, Motivational speaker, Copy-writing, Business owner, and always singer/songwriter, performer. Steeped heavily in the love of God, feeling always the call to ‘do more'. The lyrics have always been about life and the pursuit of inner joy and enlightenment. In a continuing successful loving marriage for 14 years with two sons, and as many business I am now also a Music reviewer. What we really do is listen carefully to each and every word in the songs. If we can't hear them clearly we search out the printed song list, and read them along with the songs. I have studied religion from many different views. Having a mother who traveled, but was determined her children would ‘Get God'. We would drive around each Saturday and or Sunday and see a place of worship and say, "Ya, that looks good, let's go in there." So I was exposed to all of the big three (Judaism-synagogues, Christianity- churches and Islam - mosques) and many other subsets. baptists, protestants, sufis, catholics, jehovas, unitarians, non-denominationals, buddhist, hindus, even praying in mosques & studing islam, I experienced some of everything. Above all I learned this: "We are all Gods children, self realized or not. In acceptance or not, there is only one God with a vast variety of methods and rituals to honor Him, to pray to Him, to Love Him, indeed to merge with Him. And, I am not the judge of any of them. That which seperates me from my fellow man, is what seperates me from God." Goal: to be one with all of man, hence becoming one with God. In my years I have learned to love and respect them all. It is with these skills and this humility I review the words with-in the song, these songs that come from ones heart. It is understood that to be listed here means you have already achieved the criteria of being listed.
